Description

Beautifully handcrafted here in Australia with 100% recycled cotton, we are a group of friends that adore teaching little learners all about colours.

While using us as baskets is a clever way to learn primary and secondary colours - and tidy up - we also come with an optional set of felt balls to help little hands practice fine motor skills. When you're ready to take things to the next level, we come with a set of cards to add some multi-lingual learning to the mix. Talk about versatile!

Forget plastic. We're a soothing yet stimulating way to playfully learn. We're also on good terms with cold washes, meaning any accidental spills are no biggie. So go ahead and p̶a̶a̶a̶a̶a̶a̶i̶n̶t̶ leaaaaarn with all the colours of the basket.

Origin & Maker 🌍

Paty is our Co-Founder and also a very creative person when it comes to making things with her hands. As a little girl, she learned the fine art of crochet from her aunty, Sara, however it really didn't stick in her mind or her hands until many many years later.

She designs and hand-crafts our baskets from her home in the Northern Territory.

Impact 🔥

• A built-in donation (10% of revenue, 50% of profits) to support Paty and her family's passion project - making basketball accessible to kids in rural and remote communities in northern NT.

• A second donation (of 1% revenue, each) to two Aboriginal-owned and led organisations, in acknowledgement that we live and work on stolen lands: Pay The Rent and Children's Ground.

• One tree planted, to support reforestation projects across Australia

Are you a social enterprise?

Yes! We believe in business being a force for good: so we've embedded donations towards social and environmental causes in each of our products. At least 10% of your purchase goes back into supporting the community where your product originated. Plus we plant a tree for every product purchased. See the Impact tab above for details specific to each of our handcrafted products.

Are your products plastic-free?

Absolutely! We're passionate about taking care of our world so it's in good shape for the next generation. Everything in our products, packaging and shipping materials are plastic-free and either fully recyclable or compostable. To make it super easy, you'll find a guide inside each parcel about how you can reuse or recycle the packaging.

How can I request a new language?

We love hearing what languages you'd like to see more of in our range! You can tell us what you're looking for here. As an organisation that deeply values and relies on feedback from our community, we take these requests very seriously!

Role Modelling Sustainability

We are constantly learning and tweaking the way we make, sell and ship our range, in order to nurture and restore our planet. As much as we can, we try and share our secrets so others can follow our steps.

Meet Paty Galán

Paty is an architect by profession and gets to be creative most of the time. She recently remembered that since she was a little girl she loved making her own toys! She grew up seeing both her abuelitas (grandmas) using their hands and a sewing machine to create amazing things. One of them was a dress maker and the other one was a soft toy maker. How cool was it to have your grandmas making your dresses or your teddy bears?

With crochet, Paty didn’t actually master it when her aunty taught her as a little girl. Actually, she didn’t even think about crochet for many years. When became a mum and got curious about teaching her children, she had several attempts to re-learn but still did not sink in for her.

It was until she had an intense experience in life that shocked her emotions in a way never experienced before that she turned into crochet as a mental health tool, and finally got back to it and remembered all the joyful moments she spent with her aunty creating. From then on, she started exploring different materials and things to create and designed these beautiful baskets for her children to learn the colours.
